Our Story

About the Founder

 My name is Alicia  Kollmar and I have been a pediatric occupational therapists for over 25 years. Over this time I have often heard other therapists ask questions such as, "Why is that child doing [insert questionable behavior here]?" and I have found it curious that it didn't occur to them to just ask the child, especially if they have the language skills to understand the question. 

Well, sometimes that works and sometimes that doesn't because children often have language delays or just don't know how to answer that question.  This is why I developed The Stress Detective: Clue Cards. It helps children communicate about the the things that cause them stress and anxiety.

We often don't give children enough credit and trust that they know themselves best, and part of the mission at the Stress Detective is to give children the tools and strategies to help them have a say in their own care.   I'm so excited to make this available to everyone!
